SUPPORT ME

Thank you for your interest in helping me reach my goal.

If you've come this far, I hope you'll donate today - I can't do this alone!

Diabetes is a disease that affects over 2 million Canadians, and that number is growing rapidly. Your donation will assist the Canadian Diabetes Association in its mission to help prevent type 2 diabetes, while raising funds for research into type 1.

There are two simple ways to lend your support: secure online donation or send a cheque.

In the spring I hope to hold a silent auction - if you have a product, service or work of art that you would like to donate for the auction, please let me know.

I also welcome any help or suggestions you may have for fundraising events. Feel free to contact me if you have an idea, want to help out or have advice to share.

Here's how to donate online:

Note: If you experience any trouble making an online donation, please contact me and I will Iook into it.

1. Go to www.teamdiabetes.ca and click on "pledge a participant" at the right-hand side of the yellow banner in the middle of the page (just above the BMI calculator). You will need to register some basic information (name, email and street address). Note: The Canadian Diabetes Association uses this info to issue tax receipts and process your donation – they will not contact you or sell the information to a third party.

2. Next you will be sent to a welcome screen – hit the red "click here" and you will come to a screen with four fields.
Fill them in as follows:

Event:
 Reykjavik - Iceland - Marathon Aug19/2006
First Name:
 Julie
Last Name:
 Carter
City of Residence:
 Toronto

3. On the next screen check the button to the left of my name and click submit.

4. The next page will ask for your pledge amount and credit card number. Once you fill this in and hit submit, be patient and wait while it does its thing (this may take up to a minute).

5. The final screen will confirm your donation and allow you to print off a tax receipt. If you don't print one right away, they will automatically mail you one for all donations over $15. You can also return, log in and request an electronic tax receipt at any time.

To donate by cheque:

If you prefer to make a donation by cheque, contact me to make arrangements or you can send it directly to the Canadian Diabetes Association (please remember to indicate that you are supporting Julie Carter). Please make all cheques payable to the Canadian Diabetes Association.

~ Once again, THANK YOU for your support ~
